Austen Metcalfe practices labour law, employment law, and human rights law in Hamilton and across southwestern Ontario including: Brantford, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Ancaster, Dundas, Milton, Mississauga, Oakville, and Burlington.

Austen was called to the bar in 2019 after obtaining his Juris Doctor Degree from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2018. Prior to studying law, Austen obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Classical Studies from Bishop’s University, and a Master of Arts in Religion from Queen’s University.  

Austen, a proud Westdale Warrior, was raised in Hamilton and is thrilled to be returning to effect change through the practice of law in his hometown. Austen spent his first years of practice working in community legal clinics in Brantford and the Halton Region. He demonstrates a strong commitment to social justice, and client and community service. Austen joined McMahon Molyneaux Henriquez Labour & Employment Lawyers in 2022.

Austen takes great joy in helping individuals understand and fight for their rights. His clients include individual employees, trade unions and progressive local organizations. Austen regularly represents clients at administrative tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Social Benefits Tribunal, and the Landlord and Tenant Board and has appeared at the Ontario Divisional Court.

In his spare time, Austen enjoys travelling, attempting to master the art of French cooking, and searching for the perfect clubhouse sandwich.
